"Jessica"

"Jessica" is a series 1 Aquarama built in the world famous workshops of Cantieri Riva in 1964.  She holds a position of much importance within the history of Riva, being the only Aquarama ever to be displayed in their New York showroom - early photographs of her in the showroom can be found on pages 200 and 202, volume 1, of the official Riva books 'Carlo the Legend, Riva the Myth'.

From New York she was sent to Miami where she was used as a demonstrator before being sold to Budweiser distributor and famous US hydroplane speed record holder Bernie Little.  After many happy years use in Miami, and following further changes of ownership, she was shipped to the UK in 2004 for restoration at the workshops of Peter Freebody & Co.  Works carrid out at that time included renewal of her bottom plys, overhaul of her engines and wiring, restoration of external varnish work, and fitting of new upholstery.  She was subsequently awarded first prize at the prestigious Riva Historical Society Concours D'Elegance at the 2005 Riva Days Villefranche. In 2011 further works were carried out in the workshops of Archangeli on Lake Garda - most notably her decks were renewed at this time, floor vinyls replaced and further paint and varnish carried out to bring her back to concours condition.

"Jessica" has remained in storage since, with the exception of being displayed by the Riva Society for the Riva Aquarama's 50th anniversary celebrations and where she was prime exhibit on the RAM display at the Monaco Boat Show 2014.
